Well Mike Anderson isn't the coach for Mizzou anymore. I don't know what this holds for our future, but maybe we'll actually be able to compete on road games next year. I just hope the Pressey brothers don't follow him to Arkansas, because Phil is an amazing player.
The current sermon series at my church in columbia has been over Genesis. Dave Cover gave an especially good sermon this morning over Genesis 24. At first reading of the chapter, it doesn't seem like there's too much to go into. But, he did a really good job with it. Here's the link. Over in the bottom right side are podcasts of the sermons, his is called "love at first sight" but I think it should be called "God's hidden hand of providence." Maybe I just like it because it strikes a chord with me currently, but either way it's worth a listen.
some journalism students here at MU are doing a 'dirty jobs' type of project. If you aren't aware of the show 'dirty jobs' it follows around a guy named Mike Rowe who does various "dirty jobs" for a day. It's one of my favorite shows on Discovery Channel.
Apparently these students had to find dirty jobs around Columbia and report on them. Here's the pretty cool article. I love the article because the wording they use is perfect, and I laugh because throwing rats around is just a part of my daily routine. And plus my friend Michelle is quoted in it saying "ah, I don't want to use the monster rat" and I literally laughed out loud because that's completely something she would say and I read it in her voice.
My main point of this article is that if you scroll through the pictures at the bottom there's a few of me holding Emma, one of our red tails.
chaco season is here!!! well sort of cause it's still 50 degrees outside-but it's almost here. In case you don't know what chacos are, let me inform you. They're the most amazing sandals ever invented by mankind (as evidenced by the fact that Jesus wore them) hence the nickname "jesus sandals."
