It's hard to tell which part of the superbowl people are most excited about: the game, watching it with a bunch of friends, or the commercials. So in honor of the game between the 49ers and Ravens this weekend I present the King of Beer's best "King of Superbowl ads" Clydesdale commercials from over the years.
winning my "aww" factor vote
I can't remember if this was for the Superbowl, but either way, it's the best commercial Budweiser has ever made
A 10 year remembrance tribute to 9/11 based off their first one
This and the "streaker" one are in a tie for the funniest
another hilarious one

impressive moment of the day
I've got a reporter friend who's got a really cool blog. He made a new post, so naturally I went to read it because he's an amazing photographer and there's always cool pictures in his posts. He wrote about where the very well kept grass in Busch Stadium went during the U2 concert that was here in stl a few weekends ago. Turns out some of it was sent to my old high school Westminster Christian Academy. When I went there the school was fairly nondescript, lacking a lot of amenities that come with more modern built schools. They have been working on moving to a new campus since I was in 7th grade there, so quite a while. I knew they had big plans for this new campus but had no idea they were this big: 3 gyms, 2 theaters (which as a techie/stage crew person I would have been in heaven), 12 tennis courts, 2000 seat football stadium, and a softball field with Busch Stadium grass on it are just a few of the things that are coming with the school.
Well it looks like I'll be visiting my old school this next year.

coach
Well Mike Anderson isn't the coach for Mizzou anymore. I don't know what this holds for our future, but maybe we'll actually be able to compete on road games next year. I just hope the Pressey brothers don't follow him to Arkansas, because Phil is an amazing player.

TriZou
I'm very excited because today I signed up for my first sprint triathlon. On May 1st is the TriZou in Columbia. A sprint triathlon is a shorter version of a full triathlon. This one is a 400 yard swim-14 mile bike-3 mile run. I recruited one of my fellow Nutrition & Fitness friends to train with me. It's going to be really difficult but I'm extremely excited for it, because up until now I've only done 5K races. I'm fully expecting to be one of last ones to finish but who cares because afterwards I'll be able to say that I've done a triathlon. Plus it just sounds like fun.

This brings me to the point of people who want to get in shape. Sign up for a simple 5K or whatever kind of race you want. Once you sign up for it, you're pretty much forced to train for it. So many people just say "I want to get in shape" and they never enter the gym again after February (believe me I've been around the gym enough years to see this happening every year). Signing up for a race gives you something to look towards and a realistic goal to set for yourself. For instance a 5k is just a bit more than 3 miles. This sounds like a lot to someone who doesn't run very much. But training for it is super easy: run a mile a few times a week for 1-2 weeks, and work your way up to 2 miles by week 3 and by week 4 you'll be able to run 3 miles no problem.
I don't know if you've ever been in any sort of race but the atmosphere is awesome. There's a bunch of people excited about being there. You see people walking around with numbers, which gets you motivated to race. The race itself (well at least 5Ks) is always easier than the training because you've got adrenaline, people on the side cheering, and about 300 other people doing the exact same thing you're doing. If anything, you get a t-shirt. And come on who doesn't want to wear a shirt around that says that you've run a race.

periodic table of sports
This is one of the coolest things I've seen in a while. At first it just looks like they pasted a bunch of sports teams on a periodic table. But if you know the names of teams and cities they're in it's a whole lot of fun to look through.
